Skin Care Routine Malaysia
Skin appearance is important for everyone. Taking care of it is one of the essential way to be pretty. Having good skin gives you confidence and feel good about yourself. With tons of products in the market, it can be overwhelming on what each does let alone figuring out the order of application. In this post, I will share with you, skin care routine Malaysia, my way.
Before we start, here’s some things we will need:
- Cotton pads
- Cleanser
- Face scrub
- Blackhead extraction tool
- Eyebrow shaver
- Tweezer
- Under-eye patch
- Bubble cleanser
- Toner
Skin care is quite a personal thing. So, by no means that my process here is suitable for everyone. In fact, I encourage you to formulate your own skin care routine that suits your skin the best.
Anyway, here’s the skin care routine Malaysia that I’ve been sticking to:
1. Clean face with cleanser
Cleanser is a skin product that is designed to remove any pollutants from the skin. Dead skin cells, oil and dirt will be washed off.
If you have makeup on, you should use makeup remover first. Some cleansers can clean the makeup as well. So, checkout the store for this magical item.
Apply the cleanser in circular motion. Make sure the entire surface of the skin is cleansed. That includes the neck area as well.
Cleanser will generally help clear the pores. But, that’s not enough.
2. Use face scrub
Face scrub helps to exfoliate the skin. This will remove even more dead skin cells. Having our skin clear of skin dead cells is important to prevent blockage that might cause acne.
Getting rid of the dead skin cells also reveals a clearer layer of your skin. Hence, your skin may appear brighter.
Apply the scrub in circular motion throughout the entire skin. Using circular motion promotes blood flow as well as the movement of the lymphatic system.
Scrub your face for about a minute. Prolonged scrubbing is bad for your skin. Don’t overdo it.
Once you’re done scrubbing, wash them off with water. Pat the skin dry with a towel. Do not use wiping motion as it will cause wrinkles.
3. Perform extraction with facial tools
Once the scrub process is done, it’s time for extraction. This is a disgusting and painful process because you will be removing the blackheads from the skin.
Use blackhead extraction tool accordingly. The extraction process involves physically pressing into the skin so the blackheads come out.
However, do it gently and carefully. Improper use of this tool might cause skin damage and scarring.
There’s also a blackhead vacuum in the market that makes the process easy and less painful. If your skin is prone to blackhead blockage, then it can be a worthwhile investment.
4. Shave and trim facial hair
Next in line of my skin care routine Malaysia is to shave the hair away. Sometimes, there will be stray hair growing around the eyebrow region.
Shave those strays away. Keep your eyebrows neat and tidy.
Another area to take note is the spot below the side burn. Trim those fine hair for a smooth skin.
Once you’re done shaving, wash the hair off. Again, pat dry with a towel.
5. Cleanse with bubble cleanser
After that, use a bubble cleanser. This is one of the fun moments of the whole skin care routine.
As you apply on the face, the bubble cleanser will foam up. You don’t even need to add water!
Bubble cleanser is formulated to remove impurities from the skin. It purifies the skin pores a step further.
Apply the bubble cleanser in circular motion. Let the bubble sit on your face for about 15 minutes before washing it off.
Using warm water is the best. Heat opens up pores which allows your skin to absorb the following skin care product.
Remember to pat dry your face after that.
6. Wipe face with toner
The next item to put on your face is the toner. Toner helps to remove dirt, grime and impurities that are still there after cleansing.
If used regularly, it may help to improve your skin appearance as well as tightening your pores. This creates a healthier, smoother and firmer skin.
To apply, dampen the cotton pad with toner. Lightly spread the toner over your entire face and neck as well. Use gentle wiping motion.
7. Use toner mask and eye mask
Toner mask involves soaking a few cotton pads with toner and then sticking them onto your face. Keep them on your face for about 15 minutes.
Lay down on the couch and enjoy the cooling sensation. This method is the fastest way to hydrate the skin.
While the cotton pad is still damp, use it to wipe the neck or other parts of your body. You’ll notice that it may turn brownish. That shows how effective toner is in removing dirt from your skin.
8. Apply skin serum
Now that the pores of your skin are cleansed to the max, it’s time to apply that skin serum. Skin serum contains active ingredients.
The effect of serum varies according to the product. It can brighten the skin, reduce blemish, helps in hydration or fight signs of aging.
Serum is also one of the most expensive products in the whole skin care routine. So, it’s up to your discretion to get it or not.
You can skip this step if you want to. I don’t really use serum anyway.
To apply, put a few drops of the serum on your hands and palm them on your face. Use the dabbing motion. Make sure to cover the whole face.
The cleaned pores from all the steps earlier will help your serum to go into the pores effectively. That’s how it will do it’s magical effect.
9. Apply moisturizer
Now that you have the serum in place. It’s time to lock it in the skin.
That’s where moisturizer comes in. It can protect the skin from irritation and helps to balance skin complexion.
It also works to maintain the moisture barrier of the skin. Hence, reducing the impact of the environment from damaging your skin.
To apply the moisturizer, dab some on different areas of your face. Then, use your fingers to spread it evenly across your entire face.
Once you’re done, wash your hands and let the moisturiser remain on your face.
That’s it! Skin care routine Malaysia, Valerie version is complete. Apply this 3 times a week.
The sequence matters in a skin care routine. Skin products work by going deep into your skin. So, applying the right product at the right order will help your skin to get the full benefits of these products.
There’s other things like night cream, and skin oil that you probably can consider adding to your routine if you are comfortable investing in those. Because girl, those ain’t cheap at all.
Conclusion
I hope that this skin care routine Malaysia, my own version will help you to get started on getting beautiful and clean skin.
Note that this is the routine that works on me. It may not be suitable for everyone else. Some people have oily or sensitive skin. So, gear the product selection based on the skin type.
